"we welcome applications from both clinical and non\-clinical postdoctoral scientists interested in developing their own research programme, in partnership with your sponsor, focused on elucidating molecular and biological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases to complement and advance current research. it is envisaged this will be a preclinical laboratory\-based programme of research to deeply understand molecular mechanisms altered in neurodegenerative pathologies. you should identify a suitable sponsor principal investigator based in either clinical and movement neurosciences, neurodegenerative disease, or neuromuscular diseases within the institute, and discuss your research proposal and any other requirements in advance of applying; you will report to your sponsor for the duration of the fellowship. * statement confirming support from the relevant principal investigator/ line manager (sponsor) and / or head of ion research department. this role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under uk visas and immigration legislation. therefore, ucl welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa."
